Virtual reality (VR) mini-game compilations can be a great way of sampling loads of different gameplay mechanics, just look at titles like Loco Dojo, Sports Bar VR, Summer Funland, Rec Room and Pierhead Arcade for example. The latest comes from indie developer Tantawowa Games with a compendium of games called The Incredible VR Game Show.
Out now on Steam Early Access for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, The Incredible VR Game Show has been designed as a budget friendly option for those new to VR, offering a range of cheap and cheerful experiences that can be enjoyed by anyone.
There are currently nine mini-games built around a gameshow format, with both single-player and local multiplayer options available. When playing with friends or family up to 4 contestants take turns playing 3, 5 or 7 random mini-games with each mini-game taking between 60 to 180 seconds long to complete for some rapid fire gameplay. There’s also a practice mode for players who wish to hone their skills first.
These games range from climbing walls, to bull fighting, punching blocks, and shooting targets with a bow, created to keep the competition fun and lively between competitors.
Tantawowa Games only plan on being in Early Access for around two to three months, in which time it’ll add a tenth mini-game, smooth out a few bugs and improve the scoring. Additionally, plans are underway to make a multiplayer mode but as yet nothing is concrete.
“We want the Incredible VR Gameshow to be a great budget option for new VR headset purchasers to show off what their VR equipment can do to their friends and families. We feel like we’re pretty close to where we want to be and that it already goes most of the way to fulfilling that goal,” states the team.
The Incredible VR Game Show can be downloaded now via Steam. For any further updates from the studio, keep reading VRFocus.
