Sprawling VR Multiplayer Survival Experience Seeking Dawn Enters Early Access

2017 saw the start of bigger virtual reality (VR) adventures enter the fray, with titles like The Mage’s Tale appearing in the summer followed by The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR and Fallout 4 VR. These experiences offered players many hours of gameplay, moving away from the short videogames VR was known for. That tend is continuing into 2018, with Multiverse Entertainment announcing the Early Access release of its sci-fi adventure, Seeking Dawn.

Originally showcased during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2017, Seeking Dawn has been designed as a large-scale VR multiplayer survival experience set on a sprawling alien planet. Mixing in role-playing game (RPG) elements  players will find themselves left stranded on this alien world, and with limited resources they must venture out to scavenge for supplies, craft weapons and equipment for protection.
Featuring both single-player and co-op multiplayer options in the story-driven campaign, Multiverse Entertainment promises  dozens of hours of gameplay with plenty of gritty combat to get your teeth into. On the RPG side there’s going to be plenty of opportunities for players to develop their character, while the crafting system will include over 50+ tools for combat and survival. Players won’t just be going out and attacking the local wildlife they’ll need to defend against it as well. So Seeking Dawn will have a base defense feature for those times when players need to consolidate.
As a full free-roaming adventure the studio has ensured that players are give as much freedom of movement as possible, so that means not only running around and strafing it’ll also include things like climbing and swimming.

So for fans of big open-world adventures Seeking Dawn has launched today in Early Access. Only available through the official Seeking Dawn website, the title retails for a discounted $35 USD (it’ll be $40 when fully release), compatible with HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Seeking Dawn will also support PlayStation VR and Windows Mixed Reality headsets for the final version.
To compliment the Early Access launch Multiverse Entertainment has released a new trailer with plenty of gameplay footage showcasing action sequences and scavenging. For further updates to Seeking Dawn, keep reading VRFocus.
