Oculus Sample Framework was released in the Oculus store this week on Gear VR, giving developers and designers an “experimental sandbox” of illustrated solutions to standard VR development problems.
Scenes include a menu that lets you customize the speed of fade-to-black during teleportation, crosshair options, real-time head movement on an avatar and more. The Gear VR touchpad can be used to navigate the app but some features require a game controller. The software is available for free in the Oculus store. Oculus points developers to the Developer Downloads portion of its website to get the complete Unity 5 project for the application.
Here’s a quick overview of more new apps this week.
