‘EVE: Valkyrie’ Arrives on Vive Very, Very Soon, New Content Teased

CCP Games’ EVE: Valkyrie enjoyed a successful launch on PlayStation VR earlier this month, but it still has one headset left to conquer: the HTC Vive.
After a long wait for the SteamVR version of the online dogfighter, CCP this weekend confirmed that it will be releasing in November during its EVE Vegas event. A specific date has not been given, but that news will come as a relief to Vive fans that were promised the game was coming earlier in the year. That is if they haven’t already been playing the game through the ReVive hack already.

CCP hasn’t announced if the new version will support the headset’s position-tracked wands or any roomscale features, though back in April we reported that the company was looking into it. We’ve reached out to the developer about this and will update this story if we hear back.
What fans will be able to do is play with PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift pilots through the game’s recently released cross-play update.
Also teased at EVE Vegas was new content for the game. Judging by the image above, it appears that another map, the second to be released since the game’s initial launch, could be on the way. The developer wouldn’t say any more about it, but did suggest that it will share some news at December’s PlayStation Experience event on December 4th.
Perhaps, though, this could relate to an official announcement surrounding the company’s futuristic sports title, codenamed Project Arena. Revealed back at GDC in March, this two-player game has you competing in Tron-like events, throwing neon rings at each other and trying to block them. It’s been shown on Vive and Rift already, but job listings have suggested it’s also coming to PS VR.
Elsewhere in EVE world, Gunjack 2: End of Shift is also expected to launch on Google Daydream in the very near future.
