The idea of being paid to play games is an attractive one, but many avenues for this are insecure and filled with uncertainties. An augmented reality (AR) titled called Worldopoly AirMiner is hoping to provide a new way to mine cryptocurrency using AR and geolocation technology.
Worldopoly is currently in development and almost ready for its beta release and is aimed at making the process of earning money through videogames easier and more secure. Worldopoly AirMiner is a demo of the in-game AR advert feature which will form part of the main Worldopoly videogame.
The purpose of Worldopoly AirMiner is to give the audience an idea of what to expect from the AR and geolocation features by collecting crystals that can then be converted into the Worldopoly token, the main currency of the game.
Worldopoly AirMiner is designed as a fun minigame that lets users mine crystals to convert into currency and take part in AR events around the world. Once players have registered their location, they can navigate the map, where they can find crystal drop-points and locations of ongoing or soon-to-begin events.
Much of the basic gameplay acts like an overlay on top of Google Maps, with players able to see nearby icons. Once they approach the icon, a button will light up, allowing the AR interaction to begin.
The mini-game was created to let users earn currency before the official release and let those who were involved in the Worldopoly initial coin offering (ICO) see the product they are investing in. All crystals collected in Worldopoly AirMiner are transferable into Worldopoly Tokens, giving those who sign up early a head start.
To get even more of a boost, players can acquire more tokens by sharing Worldopoly AirMiner with friends by using social media. Players who download the title and share information about it via social media will earn bonus tokens.
