VRFocus has reported on numerous global brands utilising virtual reality (VR) technology for advertising means, such as employing 360-degree videos or branded Google Cardboards. Today though Adidas has gone one step further by creating a VR experience to launch its new football boots Stellar Pack, by bringing Sony Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE) PlayStation VR into the company’s flagship stores around Europe.
Created by animation production company Woodblock, and Polynoid a specialist in short films, commercials and music videos, the Stellar Pack experience is a one-minute long, pre-rendered 360-degree visual interstellar film with support for spatial 3D audio.
Visitors to Adidas’ flagship stores across Europe including London, UK; Barcelona and Madrid, Spain; Berlin, Germany; Paris, France and Milan, Italy, will be able to experience VR on PlayStation VR prior to its global launch on 13th October.
The Stellar Pack in-store experience is available now until 9th October 2016, and from this week by some of football’s biggest names – including Paul Pogba, Gareth Bale, Luis Suarez and Mesut Özil will be wearing the new boots on the pitch.
